Calf Pasture Beach Calf Pasture Beach Road, off I-95 at Exit 16 Norwalk, CT Ph: 203-854-7806 Open: Memorial Day – September. This 33 acre beach is the largest in the area. Features include a miniature golf course, fishing area, softball fields, volleyball courts, sailboat/windsurf/kayak rentals. Parking fee.
Jennings Beach South Benson Road, off I-95 at Exit 22 Fairfield, CT Beach has playground for children, bathhouse and food concession. Parking fee per car.
Lake Mohegan Tahmore Road, off the Merritt Parkway at Exit 15 Fairfield, CT Ph: 203-256-3010 Open: Memorial Day – Labor Day. Lake beach with public grills and a picnic area. Admission fee.
Long Beach Oak Bluff, off I-95 at Exit 30N/31S Stratford, CT Open: Memorial Day – September. Parking fee. Long Beach is one of the longest barrier beaches in Connecticut–a little over a mile long. Walk along the shore to enjoy the dunes and tidal wetlands sheltered by this barrier beach.
Penfield Beach Fairfield Beach road, off I-95 at Exit 22 Fairfield, CT Ph: 203-256-3010 Open: Memorial Day – Labor Day. Beach amenities include a playground, picnic area with public grills, food concession and restrooms. Parking fee.
Seaside Park Beach Barnum Dyke, Off I-95 at Exit 27 Bridgeport, CT Phone: 203-576-7233 Open: Memorial Day – Labor Day. Seaside Park is an extensive municipal park with many amenities including a bathing beach, bath houses, ball fields, picnic areas, and hiking trails. Parking fee.
Sherwood Island State Park Off I-95 at Exit 18 Westport, CT Ph: 203-566-2305 State park features a one-and-a-half mile beach, fishing areas, food concession, bathhouse, and swimming areas. Parking fee. Open Memorial Day – Labor Day.
Weed Beach Nearwater Lane, off I-95 at Exit 27
Darien, CT Ph: 203-656-7325 Beach amenities include public grills, picnic areas, tennis courts, restrooms. Reservations are required for the tennis courts. Parking fee. Open: Memorial Day-September.
Pear Tree Point Beach Park Pear Tree Point Road Darien, Connecticut Pear Tree Point Beach is an 8-acre beach loaded with amenities including picnic tables and grills, a bath house, a gazebo, and a concession stand in addition to two great beaches. It also features an excellent boat launch ramp. There is a fee.
Rickards Beach Fairfield Beach Road Fairfield, Connecticut Rickards Beach is a large sandy beach located next to Penfield Beach. Bring your umbrella and enjoy an afternoon playing in the Long Island Sound. Parking is available at Penfield Beach and a sticker is required. There is a fee.
Sasco Beach Sasco Hill Road Fairfield, Connecticut This sandy beach is a great place to spend the day strolling along the edge of the Long Island Sound. Put your sea-kayak in for a day of paddling in the Sound. There is a fee for non-residents to use this site.
Southport Beach Pequot Avenue Fairfield, Connecticut Southport Beach offers fine views of the Long Island Sound. There is a fee for non-residents to use site but there is no on-site parking for non-residents. There is no public access sign at this site and there is no sign for Southport Beach.
Grassy Island Norwalk Harbor Norwalk, Connecticut The coastline of Grassy Island is mostly gravel and fine sand and provides sheltered landing areas. Overnight camping is allowed by a permit from the City of Norwalk. There is a fee.
Shea/Ram Island Norwalk Harbor Norwalk, Connecticut Shea Island’s shoreline is strewn with rocks and boulders. Overnight camping is allowed with a permit. There is a fee.
The Plains Island Norwalk Harbor Norwalk, Connecticut The Plains Island is an island in Norwalk Harbor, accessible by boat only. No fee.
Cove Island Park Cove Road Stamford, Connecticut Cove Island Park has it all including developed recreation facilities such as a 1-mile loop walking/running trail, children’s play area, a roller blade/cycling path and expansive lawn areas for kite-flying. There are two sandy beaches, a small salt marsh, intertidal mudflats and the estuarine embayments of Holly Pond and the Cove River that provide opportunities for birders to observe water birds. There is a fee.
Cummings Park Shippan Avenue Stamford, Connecticut Cummings Park is a beautiful, 79-acre park on Long Island Sound. Visitors can enjoy the beach, pavilions, snack bar, board walk and fishing pier. The park offers a variety of outdoor recreation facilities including tennis courts, handball and basketball courts, playground, four softball fields, rest rooms and parking. There is a fee.
Point-No-Point Beach Drive Stratford, Connecticut Also known as The Seawall, Point-No-Point provides easy parking and a pleasant walk along the beach on the Long Island Sound. No fee.
Russian Beach Beach Drive Stratford, Connecticut . At Russian Beach, only the area seaward of mean high water is open to the public. Walk along the wet sand area of this beach. No fee.
Short Beach Park Dorne Drive Stratford, Connecticut Short Beach Park is a large park area with many amenities including a par-3 golf course, miniature golf, platform tennis, basketball courts, beach volleyball, playscape, swimming and passive recreation.There is a fee.
Burying Hill Beach and Wetlands Beachside Avenue Westport, Connecticut Burying Hill Beach and Wetlands is located across the street from Greens Farms Academy, walking distance to Greens Farms railroad station and adjacent to Sherwood Island State Park beach. A small quiet beachfront overlooking Long Island Sound with picnic tables and grills. A parking fee is required from Memorial Day to October 1st.
Cockenoe Island Cockenoe Island Westport, Connecticut Cockenoe Island is off Seymour Point in Westport and only accessible by boat. There is a boat launch ramp at Compo Beach and Marina and Saugatuck River State Boat Launch in Westport. No fee.
Compo Beach and Marina Compo Beach Road Westport, Connecticut Ph: 203-341-5090 Compo Beach and Marina is a 29-acre park with something for everyone. The park features extensive beach areas, a concession stand and, pavilion, bath houses with lockers, and picnic areas including grills on south beach. For the more active, the park features a huge wooden playscape, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, open skate areas, and a softball field. Use of the marina and boat launch area requires a permit. There is a fee.
Longshore Club Park and Marina 260 South Compo Road Westport, Connecticut A pavilion provides shelter from the sun. Visitors can bring their own lunch and eat at the picnic area or use a seasonal on-site concession stand. A bathhouse with sanitary facilities are provided. A fee is charged to visit the beach at this Park. There is a fee.
Old Mill Beach Old Mill Road Westport, Connecticut Old Mill Beach is a small public beach in a residential area on Hills Point Road. Open year-round, with benches overlooking the waterfront (lifeguards are never stationed at Old Mill). Take a walk to the Mill Pond and enjoy the wildlife. Parking lot is limited to residents-only May through September (a parking emblem is required), but on-street parking is available to the general public. No fee.
Sherwood Island State Park Exit 18 off I-95 Westport, Connecticut Ph: 203-226-6983 Have a leisurely lunch in the shade of the picnic grove, swim in Long Island sound, or view marsh life from the observation platform at Sherwood Island State Park.
